Dr. Ronni Brown, DDS, MPH

Dr. Brown earned BS, DDS and MPH degrees from UCLA and received specialty training in dental public health at UCSF. She works at the Sonoma County Jail in Santa Rosa, CA and provides emergency dental services to the inmates detained at this facility. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Public Health Association, American Association of Public Health Dentistry and the Forensic Expert Witness Association. Her research on “meth mouth” has garnered national interest and has been published in the Journal of the California Dental Association (2013). In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Brown is a consultant and expert witness for the Dental Board of California.

Dr. Veronica Greene, DDS, MPH

Dr. Greene is currently Asst Adjunct Professor at UCLA, in Advanced Prosth/Hospital Dentistry, since 2002. She was Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry, at the USC School of Dentistry, 2003-2012. She worked with the Community Health Programs, Pacific AETC (AIDS Training and Education Center), Dir. of USC/St Barnabas Senior Ctr Dental Service, and was supervising faculty in the Special Patients Clinic, overseeing AEGD, Oral Medicine/Orofacial Pain residents, managing Operating Room patient care and teaching dental/dental hygiene students. She has done research on Geriatric Health Care, Oral Health and HIV infection, Postdoctoral Education in Dentistry and Medicine, and Health Care Disparities among Elderly and Minority Populations.

Dr. James J. Crall, DDS, ScD

Dr. James J. Crall received dental (DDS) and master’s degrees and a certificate in pediatric dentistry fromthe University of Iowa, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (Board Certified).He was selected to be a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Dental Health Services Research Scholar at Harvard from 1984-86, and subsequently obtained masters and doctoral degrees in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. In 1997, Dr. Crall was appointed as the first Dental Scholar-in-Residence at the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR), now the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Dr. Lindsey Robinson, DDS

Dr. Robinson is a board-certified pediatric dentist, and has maintained a full-time dental practice in Grass Valley, California for the past seventeen years. She received her certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Florida and her DDS degree from the University of Southern California. She is a past president of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Robinson was a member of the ADA Council on Access, Prevention, and Interprofessional Relations for six years, and during her tenure served as vice-chair for a year and chair for two years. She is a founding board member of the US National Oral Health Alliance. Dr. Robinson currently serves as immediate past president of the California Dental Association (CDA) and is past chair of the California Dental Association Foundation. Dr. Robinson serves on the Institute of Medicine Health Literacy Roundtable as the oral health representative sponsored by CDA.

Dr. Jennifer Holtzman, DDS

Dr. Holtzman is an effective and committed advocate for prevention-focused, evidence-based strategies to improve oral health. She worked with colleagues to establish oral exams for children entering kindergarten and 1st grade in California schools, and to create the Los Angeles Pediatric Oral Health Access Program. Dr. Holtzman began her academic career when she was recruited to the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry in recognition of her efforts as a private practitioner to address oral health disparities. At USC she established and directed two award winning school-based community oral health promotion programs including the only mobile school based sealant program in the City of Los Angeles. Dr. Holtzman served as a co-leader in Southern California for the Head Start Dental Home Initiative. and continues to play an important leadership role in the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, the American Public Health Association and the American Dental Association. Dr. Holtzman is a Diplomate in Dental Public Health and has a faculty appointment at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry where she investigates the association between health literacy and oral health. Dr. Holtzman has had several publications published in peer-reviewed journals and has spoken widely.

Dr. John Yamamoto, DDS, MPH

Dr. Yamamoto, who joined Delta Dental in 2008 as dental director, will oversee quality assessment, claims review and utilization, as well as ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements. He also will lead the company’s research area. His background includes seven years in private practice and a six-year affiliation with the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he worked as both an adjunct assistant professor and as the director of the Venice Dental Clinic. While at UCLA, Dr. Yamamoto focused much of his time on providing and teaching community-oriented dental care, serving Southern California’s lower-income families and developing programs to increase access to dental care for the underserved. He also served for five years as a dental consultant to the California Department of Managed Health Care. Dr. Yamamoto holds a doctor of dental surgery degree from UCSF, a master’s degree in public health from UCLA, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from UC Irvine. He also holds a dental public health residency certificate from UCSF.
